NABJ Extends Condolences to the Edwards Family

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Aug. 22, 2019) –The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) extends its condolences, prayers and thoughts to the family, friends and colleagues of Marsha Edwards, Christopher Edwards II and Erin Edwards. Marsha, Christopher and Erin were NABJ members from the Atlanta area.

The Edwards family attended NABJ’s national conventions. Christopher and Erin were beloved by student and emerging journalist members, as well as the professionals who mentored them.

Their respective academic institutions described Christopher and Erin as “exemplary” and “engaging” student leaders. Members and friends who knew Christopher closely described him as “positive,” “hardworking” and a “light.” Erin was described by members and friends as a “rising star,” who was “committed to her craft.”

Marsha was well-known in many community circles and successful in the medical industry.

While we are saddened by what transpired and the void that is now left within the NABJ family, we are confident that their impact will live on for years to come.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported their deaths earlier today. The story is available here.
