NABJ REMEMBERS LEGENDARY JOURNALIST BELVA DAVIS

NABJ mourns the passing of trailblazing journalist and 2008 NABJ Hall of Fame inductee Belva Davis, who broke barriers as the first Black woman television journalist on the West Coast.

For nearly five decades, Davis was a trusted voice in news as well as a mentor and guiding light to countless journalists who followed in her footsteps. Her oft-repeated motto, “Don’t be afraid of the space between your dreams and reality. If you dream it, you can make it so,” continues to inspire us all.

Rest in power, Belva Davis. Your legacy and light lives on.
