NABJ Statement On Harassment

NABJ Executive Director Drew Berry is Retiring
05/20/2025
The board, staff, and members of NABJ are committed to the goal of and creating an environment where no one is subject to oppression, intimidation, discrimination, and/or harassment based on his/her/their gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, size, race, ethnicity, age, nationality, class, physical or mental disability, creed, religion or political ideology. We strongly condemn any action that violates our policies and harms our members and valued guests. For that reason, those policies are part of the membership application process.
We will meet with local chapter presidents and our national board to help remind our members of these critical tenets and the need for adherence. The board of directors and chapter leaders previously completed sexual harassment training and will be offered additional anti-harassment training ahead of our next convention. Convention participants will also be reminded of our existing policies.
This policy is a hallmark, and we encourage members to support safe places. Please review the Code of Conduct and Anti-Harassment Policy as we work to remind everyone of their importance. NABJ investigates such complaints and takes appropriate action.
