Founded on December 12, 1975, December 2024 marks NABJ’s 49th anniversary and the kickoff of our journey to the 50th celebration in 2025. We will celebrate all year and hold special events at our #NABJ25 Convention in Cleveland, along with a can’t-miss program in December 2025.

NABJ Announces 2025 Leadership Academy Cohort

Kicking off its fourth year, the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Leadership Academy today announced its cohort members for the 2025 cycle. The Academy, powered by Disney and ABC News Group, trains NABJ members working in broadcast, print, and digital who are current news and media managers—or those interested in transitioning to leadership roles—to ascend to the executive suite. Training occurs year-round and during NABJ’s Annual Convention, featuring discipline-specific modules and career development sessions.

NABJ mourns the loss of beloved news anchor Chauncy Glover, who was honored with the NABJ Angelo B. Henderson Community Service Award in 2016 for his impact beyond journalism. Known nationally as a champion for mentoring youth and reinvesting in communities, Glover was also a past recipient of NABJ’s Salute to Excellence Award.
